If you’re handy, we don’t necessarily want to discourage you from the DIY job, but we also want to make you aware of the multitude of steps that can introduce little errors that can result in an unsightly product or worse, unstable and unusable. Concrete is a blend of a certain percentage of limestone, cement and water, and putting in the wrong amounts of each can be detrimental to the final cured concrete. Furthermore, the integrity of the concrete can be compromised if the mixture is undermixed or overmixed, leading to problems such as aggregate separation, overheating, gelling, a less than ideal texture to work with, and finally a weaker concrete product. |

We apply a permeable liner on top of the leveled sand to deter weeds from sprouting through the cracks. And finally, we install the stones at a maximum of two inches apart, and fill the cracks with appropriately sized rocks.
